All of Ravensburger's Frame Puzzles have between 10 and 40 pieces. The puzzles come in a cardboard frame with a firm cardboard backing or in a splinter-free, sturdy wood frame with smooth wooden pieces.

Underneath a completed See Inside puzzle lies another picture, a black and white version of the top puzzle. When starting at the bottom, the underlying picture serves as a guide to where the top pieces should go. When starting with a completed top puzzle, the underlying picture provides a glimpse beyond the superficial top image. For example, remove a toy chest to reveal the collection of toys underneath, or cover a bunch of fruit with a refrigerator. The pieces of a See Inside puzzle are distinct, smooth-edged, glare-free shapes rather than jigsaw-type pieces. They are encased in a high quality heavy cardboard frame measuring approximately 9" x 12".
